Thames Tideway Tunnel – East, London
Mulvaney Consultants Ltd are proud to be providing commercial and contractual management services to Bachy Soletanche Ltd who are a JV Partner within CVB (Costain, Vinci Construction Grands Projets, Bachy Soletanche).
CVB are the Main Works Contractor on the east section of the Thames Tideway Tunnel project for the completion of a new 25 kilometre interception, storage and transfer tunnel running up to 65 metres below the river Thames. The CVB contract works include a completion of the main tunnel section running from Chamber’s Wharf in Bermondsey to Abbey Mills Pumping Station in Stratford as well as the completion of a secondary connection tunnel running from Greenwich pumping station through Deptford and connecting into the main tunnel at Chamber’s Wharf.
This ambitious project once completed will intercept sewerage and divert it to the new tunnel before it can flow into the Thames. This will massively reduce the amount of sewerage which currently overflows into the river every year and ultimately clean it up so that it can be used by the people of London and indeed the rest of the world.
